Pacific Heights

Located in San Francisco’s prestigious Pacific Heights neighborhood, this project stitches together 12,000 sf of historic mansion distributed over four levels.  In collaboration with interior designer Billy Cotton, our design intent was to modernize the lower three levels of the house while maintaining and expanding the magnificent historic character and detailing that defines the home.   We re-imagined the penthouse level, built in the 1970’s, as sun-drenched oasis whose open space and minimal detailing elevate and reinforce the impressive views across the bay.  We designed a sinuous and sculptural wood stair, elegantly linking the four levels, each distinct in material palette and character.
